Lots of new faces this year, and a good turn out!

Brilliant day at Leominster Food Fayre sponsoring Kids Kitchen for the 3rd year running.  Despite the wet weather there was a great turn out, and plenty of cake eaten by the kids!
Thank you to everyone who was able to come and see us at the coffee morning.  It was so lovely to see you all, and also some new faces.  We have have had some excellent feedback, and needless to say we will be having another one soon, but this time a bigger room so it’s not too hot!  Hopefully you enjoyed your gift bags and are using them to their full potential!
Girls under 12 futsal team champions in Herefordshire sponsored by OES
Our huge congratulations go to the Earl Mortimer U12 Girls Futsal Team, who had a very successful day at the West Midland Regional Futsal Finals on Saturday 4th June, winning every game to become the West Midland Regional Champions. They will represent the West Midlands in the National Finals which are due to be held this Saturday 25th June at Birmingham International Futsal Arena. Good luck girls!
Girls under 12 futsal team from Early Mortimer College presented with new kit by OES
We are proud to share that Outstanding Education have sponsored new kit for the Girls U12 Futsal team County Champions from Earl Mortimer College. They will get to wear their smart new kit when they travel to the International Futsal Centre in Birmingham on Saturday 4th June to represent Herefordshire in the Regional Finals. Good luck girls, we wish you all the very best!

We are pleased to announce the winners of ‘Teacher of the Term’ for Spring 2016. It was a difficult decision to choose between all of the nominees and so we had joint winners… Lisa nominated by Ledbury Primary School for her commitment and consistency, and being an absolute star! And… James nominated by Leominster Primary School for his willingness to adapt to any situation and working well with all members or staff and children.   Both winners have received a certificate of recognition, a high street voucher for £30, flowers and a bottle of bubbles. An excellent morning at Earl Mortimer mock interviewing Year 10 for the school.  We have some budding teachers and sports coaches for the future! We are very pleased to have been able to support the school for the 3rd year running on such a worthwhile activity.

It was a difficult decision to choose between all of the nominees and so we had joint winners… Jayne nominated by Riverside Primary School for her adaptability, boundless energy and her permanent positive attitude. And… Caroline nominated by Weobley High School for going out of her way to adapt the materials to the needs of her groups and being very resilient in the face of some challenging behaviour. Both winners have received a certificate of recognition, a high street voucher for £30, flowers and a bottle of bubbles. Watch this space for next terms winners!
Achievement for Herefordshire Outstanding Teacher Award presented by recruiters Outstanding Education Solutions
The winner of the Sunshine ‘Outstanding Teacher/Teaching Assistant’ Award for 2015 was… Carol Merryman “Carol is an exceptional teaching assistant. She has the role of well being officer at Ledbury Primary School. She looks after the children, parents and staff using her nurturing and caring personality.  Nothing is too much trouble for Carol and she goes to the ends of the earth to give the correct support and makes the school a great place to be.” The other two nominees were: Andrew Taylor “Andrew is head of mathematics at Lady Hawkins School. He’s been teaching for over 20 years and has inspired students wherever he’s worked. He is a very committed teacher and last year his school won the ks3 maths cup beating every other school in the county. He has also run a very successful equestrian team and they won 4 regional titles. An amazing teacher who gains respect from all students that he teaches.” and Jane Crabtree “Jane has been a teacher at the Royal National College for the Blind for over 20 years.  During that time she has developed the massage and complimentary therapy programme into a vocational, work based learning course with real outcomes and paid employment for people with visual impairment. Jane goes above  and beyond the call of duty by accompanying her learners to their home areas in order to meet potential employers. She also facilities work placements and paid employment for those who wish to remain in Hereford.”
